Senate District 66 DFL
Newsletter Purpose and Guidelines

Purpose:

to support our elected SD66 legislators, declared democratic candidates, and other local elected democrats; to communicate information that potentially affects SD66 residents and to engage them on issues of concern.

Guidelines:

  1. The newsletter is open to submissions from all declared democratic candidates seeking election to positions that govern SD66, whether seeking DFL-endorsement, or not. Post DFL-endorsement, only articles supporting the endorsed candidate will be accepted. In the event of a lack of endorsement, all declared candidates will still be allowed to submit articles.
  2. The communications committee commits to actively seek out all announced democratic candidates prior to election/endorsement to request a statement, interview, or article.
  3. The editor of the newsletter will be the Chair or Associate Chair [of SD 66]. S/he will screen all articles and determine, at his/her discretion, which are appropriate for publication, and make any necessary modifications. Newsletters will go to print only after the editor has approved the final copy.
  4. The communications committee will make sure that the union bug is added to the newsletter.
  5. To engage readers, we will have an editorial section, where we will print a topic and solicit responses for submission in our next publication.
  6. We will secure a bulk mail permit to save on mailing costs.
